"This music has a purpose and a drive behind it coming from people who really mean it. If it happens to remind you of Sabbath or Led Zeppelin then that's not a demerit, not when it's done like this." - Altsounds
"3.5 Stars" "[...]There's as much Sonic Youth doom in his band's guitar explorations as there is folky grooviness; on songs like "Lookout!" a dark chill haunts the incense and peppermints." - Rolling Stone

Aido Daneshvar at LA Record: "Have you ever stood five feet away from a napalm explosion during the height of the Vietnam War? That’s pretty much what standing in the front row at an Entrance show is like." Read more.

The Entrance Band recorded four tunes for Daytrotter, including one spooky scary ghost adventurin' rendition of Grim Reaper Blues (Pt. 2). Go take a listen.
"The Entrance Band is old school rock and roll or to put it in a much more convoluted way, they are something akin to Buddy Holly and Robert Johnson’s cloned step son on a tequila bender fronting a Hawkwind cover band with members of The Birthday Party jamming on Cream’s instruments playing at some demon god of the nether world’s birthday party." - Spacelab
Also, Shannon at Everybody Gets Laid posted a heartfelt little entry that includes a link to "Still Be There." Read and listen here.

Chris Ziegler at L.A. Record talks with The Entrance Band about touring, Jerry Lee Lewis, and their debut album: "We should come together and focus on what connects us. I think that’s still really important. I don’t think it’s fully accomplished yet. Things have happened since then to bring it closer to reality—that’s why I sing in a hopeful way. I think we can do it. But ‘Yes We Can!’ became ‘Yes We Did!’ Just because someone is president doesn’t mean a lot of other people aren’t living with the same stress." Read the whole thing.
Guy Blakeslee is interviewed in the Baltimore City Paper, misses his mom.
The band also has a new website that's worth it for the hypnotic animated album cover alone. Check it out. Oh, and that album IS OUT NOW. So, go get it if you, ya know, think unity is worth achieving.

Brian Leli at Gapers Block reports back from The Entrance Band's July 16th show at The Hideout: "Accentuated tonight in the songs 'Pretty Baby' and the set-closing 'Grim Reaper Blues,' their fusing of free-spiritedness and precision is that which sets the mind and body ablaze." Read more.
